Master Number
Definition
In numerology, the numbers 11, 22, and 33 — left unreduced instead of being added down to a single digit, and read as intensified, more demanding versions of 2, 4, and 6 respectively.
A master number is one of the three numbers — 11, 22, and 33 — that numerology leaves unreduced, instead of adding them down to a single digit. They’re read as heightened, more demanding versions of the digits they’d otherwise become: 11 as an intensified 2, 22 as an intensified 4, and 33 as an intensified 6.
Master numbers are seen as carrying greater potential and greater challenge, and they’re held apart because reducing them would flatten that intensity. Importantly, having one isn’t a badge of being special — many people live much of their lives in the reduced form. See the full guide to master numbers for what each one means.
