Every culture has done it; the modern lineage runs through Freud, who read dreams as disguised wishes, and Carl Jung, who read them as messages from the self, populated by archetypes.
On the reflective view this site takes, a dream isn’t an omen about the future — it’s raw material from your own psyche, worth looking at rather than obeying. A recurring image (a house with a missing room, a road you can’t reach the end of) often gives shape to something you’re already living through.
